What: A Monster Calls
Where: The Old Vic
When: Jul 7 - Aug 25
Why: The storyline is rather interesting about a boy whose mom is very sick. He wakes up one night to a monster outside his window. It is based off of a novel by Patrick Ness that is a best seller that deals with love, loss, and healing. I also know that a movie was recently created based off the novel as well. The pictures of the theatre make it seem really interesting, and the interior is really beautiful.

The Turn of the Screw (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre) (Nevermind this is Not Playing While We're in Town)
What: The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten
Where: Regent's Park Open Air Theatre
When: June 22-30
Why: I'm now really curious to see how an opera about ghosts in a spooky mansion will play out, especially in an open air theater where it's going to be harder to capture the same sense of claustrophobia that an indoor theatre provides.
